Iot term was coined by Kevin Ashton in 1999 at P and G to suggest RFID tags in logistics

Iot refers to the connection of things across the internet

Iot is already in our daily lives, such as ring cameras, automatic hoovers, and other devices that are connected to the internet. 

It can be used in work places to process when equipment may be broken which can be used to save millions. 

Iot is starting to be normalized within our lives as it matures and people and companies realises its usefulness

It is frictionless interactions between people/ things

its not simply sensors as it is actually executing commands all the time

Why do we care about capturing data?

Apple watches capture data as it allows the users to understand their health and reassures them about their sleep patterns or how healthy they are. It also tracks messages and updates from social media which can be convenient for its users. 

Alexa's or google homes can be useful as they can play music and track data from your phone to be more convenient in your day to day.

In mining data is captured to ensure the company is being efficient and fast. When companies are not efficient they loose money and make shareholder's angry, Iot's allow companies in every industry to become more efficient in the way the do their job.

-These are classed as the bikes and scooters you see in big cities that track where your have been to ensure you are using your time you have properly to get to you destination

Tesla 

-Tesla have been creating an automated driving system by tracking users data and applying that to a system that contain all of its users driving patterns 

Smart glasses 

-These, developed by Ray band, are glasses that can capture video and upload it to the cloud

Amazon One (Payment palm)

-This device will allow you to make payments, identify yourself, or enter a venue by imbedding your palm and tracking your distinctive features on your palm.
